Maureen Daly

Maureen Daly has been a well-known name to young readers ever since her first novel Seventeenth Summer was published in 1942. Her writing career got off to an auspicious start when at age 16 her short story Sixteen won first prize in Scholastic Magazine’s short story contest and was selected for the O. Henry Best Short Stories Collection the same year. Her most recent novels include Acts of Love and Promises to Keep from Scholastic Books. Maureen Daly now lives in California.

She is author of the book The Small War of Sergeant Donkey.
